Director of Membership: Kate Moore MBE

With a background in HR, Kate ran her own Outplacement Consultancy for many years, but is now a working Director of Landmine Action. A Soroptimist since 1981, she has served at club, region and Federation level.

10 years ago she started the Soroptimist Chat Line which gave Soroptimists world-wide the first opportunity to extend international goodwill and understanding via the internet.

Kate is married with two sons, and two grandchildren, and her family have always supported her activites in the organisation.

Soroptimism is her passion; she believes that during the early part of the 21st century our organisation needs to develop and expand on past achievements. We need recognise the urgency and meet the challenge of membership – which is the responsibility of every member. Only sufficient motivated members will help us to change the lives of women and girls in the world.

Kate's theme as Regional President was "Carpe Diem" and her favourite quotation is 'standing still is not an option'. Kate says: "Let's seize the day, make Membership our top priority – get out there and find like minded women who will work with us and give them the gift of Soroptimism."
