Our President's Message

Wallasey is located on the northeast corner of the Wirral peninsula.

Welcome to the Website of Soroptimist International of Wallasey.

This is our 61st year and I am the new president. My name is Jacqueline Webster Dicks. I have been a member of the Wallasey Club for 39 years. During this time I have become engaged; married and celebrated our silver wedding; and had two children and one grandchild: all males. I have hopes of my daughters-in-law!

I joined the club as a ‘Chiropodist Soroptimist’ and am now a Podiatrist, and still working. During my time as a Soroptimist I have been Club President which was in the Clubs 40th year, Regional President, and Federation Representative. Soroptimists have been good to me in friendship and international understanding and I am looking forward to the next year as the organisation is so different now.

My charities for my presidency year are ‘Forum Housing’ and ‘Breathe Easy Wirral’ which is part of the British Lung Foundation. During the coming year in the Club we will have both fun and ‘serious intentions’ in raising funds and engaging in activities to help these and other causes.

We are a thriving and friendly organisation locally, nationally and internationally with interest in Lyndhurst Special School; Women’s Refuge; ‘schools in a box’- a complete aid for teaching in flooded and war torn areas; beach watch and clean – an environmental project; and our new 4 year project SIerra Leone.
