Our President's Message
As President of SI Perth in Scotland it is my pleasure to welcome you to our website. I hope that you will find useful information and contacts on our site.
SI Perth is a very active Soroptimist Club with approximately 47 members. We are involved in supporting a number of local charities as well as organisations and individuals around the world. The local organisations we work with include Women’s Aid and Young Carers.
My charity this year involves supporting young women in Kenya to live apart from their families from the age of 13 until they are 17. These are the critical years when they are at risk of having to undergo female genital mutilation (female circumcision). Once they reach 17 years of age they are no longer at risk and can return to their tribe (they are also, as importantly, welcome to return to their tribe).
