SI Nottingham Projects

Each Soroptimist International club identifies the needs of its community, then establishes specific projects to address these needs. All our projects relate to one or more of the six Programme Focus Areas: Economic and Social Development, Education, Environment, Health, Human Rights and the Status of Women, and International Goodwill and Understanding.

More information is available in the Our Work pages, where you can read more about the current Programme Focus aims and the Quadrennial Project, supported by all clubs in the Federation.

The projects listed below include some of the local and international issues we research and support in SI Nottingham:

Women 's Refuge

Club Members continued their support for this Project. Two staff members came to talk to the Club and discussion resulted in a users' 'Wish List'.

As well as the popular
“Welcome Baskets”(a towel, flannel, soap, toiletries etc.) and the 'Moving-on Buckets'(household - cleaning products, mop, etc.) baby monitors, slippers and pants; notice-boards and diaries; table lamps, mirrors, rugs and pictures have been donated to the Refuge.
The latest idea is for an allotment so that the women can grow fruit and
vegetables and a garden shed and tools are to be purchased shortly.
