Our President's Message

Welcome to our web pages for the Midland East region, www.soroptimist-gbi.org/clubs/midland-east.

Our region has thirteen clubs Amber Valley, Buxton and District, Chesterfield and District, Derby, The Dukeries, Kettering, Leicester, Loughborough, Mansfield and District, Northampton and District, Nottingham and Peterborough with hopefully another club Grantham and Newark soon to be formed . Most but not all have their own website.

What an exciting time for Soroptimists! We have new Programme Focus Goals, a new SI Quadrennial Project and a new Federation President. We have so much to look forward to and work towards.

During the next year I hope you will enjoy all the challenges, debate and friendship that our Region meetings offer. We have a variety of speakers, a Teams of Excellence workshop plus a change of format at one or more meetings to invite more active participation from members.

I hope that my theme "A World of Difference - same problems, different solutions" will inspire and challenge you in implementing our Soroptimist vision and mission, to inspire action and create opportunities to transform the lives of women and girls, by looking differently at shared problems and the solutions we apply to them.

I have already experienced a great deal of enjoyment and encouragement from others in putting together my programme and look forward to sharing it with you.
