SI Inverness and Nairn Diary
Unless otherwise stated, all meetings will be held at the Lochardil House Hotel, Stratherrick Rd, Inverness.
The Club meets on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month. The first meeting in the month will commence at 6.30pm with a meal - cost £9 - the meeting at 7.30pm. The second meeting will also commence at 7.30pm.
Executive Meetings will commence at 6.30pm before the second meeting.
Members may also bring along a guest at any Speaker Evening.
Concert

Michelle Cressida is the daughter of our club Programme Action Officer Billie and she will present a programme of Operatic Arias and Lieder with music by Mozart, Strauss and Dvorak. She will be accompanied on the piano by Rena Beaton, a former club member.
Admission is free but donations are welcome and will be divided between SI Inverness and Nairn and Judy Westwater's South African Street Child Project.
After the concert members will make their way to the restaurant Delices de Bretagne to enjoy lunch.
This concert is being held in Inverness Town House at 1.00 p.m.
Britain in Bloom

Members are travelling through to Alness to view the floral decorations which won the town a Britain in Bloom award. We learned of Alness's success at a guest presentation at the Regional Meeting held in Easter Ross last November.
After touring Alness members will visit a local restaurant to enjoy afternoon tea.
This event is a tour round Alness.
World Literacy Weekend

Inverness and Nairn Soroptimists in conjunction with Borders Bookshop are presenting a three day event for World Literacy Weekend.
The three day event will take place at the Borders Bookshop, Inverness Retail Park, Inverness from Friday 7th September to Sunday 9th September. Events are planned for each day from 2pm to 4pm.

Women Walking for Women Survivors of War

Join the Inverness and Nairn Soroptimists on a walk for Women Survivors of War. This is part of SI UK Programme Action initiative on 21 September, the International Day of Peace.
This year we are going to walk through the Islands in Inverness. We will meet in the car park of Lochardil House Hotel at 6.30pm.
If you would like to collect sponsor money for this, sponsor forms can be obtained from President Janet.

Ladies Day

This Ladies Day will be the major fundraising event for President Janet's chosen charity The Highland Hospice.
Open from 11.00 a.m. till 4.00 p.m. admission costs £5 and includes refreshment and one free pampering treatment. Other pampering treatments cost £5 each and include massage, skin care, make up, manicure, acupuncture, fortune reading, etc. There will also be various stalls and a raffle. Snacks will be available to purchase in the cafe.
This event will be held in the Spectrum Centre, Inverness.

The shoeboxes which have been decorated by the women prisoners from Porterfield Prison will be filled ready for distribution. These shoeboxes filled with toiletries and gifts will be handed over to the mothers in Women's Aid as a Christmas present from the members of our club.
