Our President's Message

Welcome to the web pages of Soroptimist International of Hoylake I West Kirby.
I hope you find them interesting.

Our club meets twice a month(excluding August)at the Kings Gap Court Hotel in Hoylake.
Business meetings are held on 2nd Monday of the month at 7.30pm, and Social meetings (dinner and a guest speaker) on the last Monday of most months at 6.45pm for 7.00pm

During our Business meetings we deal with club business, and on raising awareness of local, national and international concerns.
We plan events and projects that we think will help meet these concerns.
Projects can take the form of fundraising, undertaking service projects in the local area, or lobbying our MP on topical issues.
We are also a friendship group and if you check out our Diary pages, you will see that we plan many social events and outings that are purely for pleasure.

We are not a big club in terms of membership, and we are busy women, so our level of involvement differs - some of us have more time than others to devote to Soroptimism, but the high level of interest in promoting the rights of women throughout the world is what keeps us together, each one of us making an effort in our own way which collectively add up to something quite worthwhile.

The club was chartered in 1946, and although none of the original founders are still with us, many of our members have been Soroptimists for over 20, 30 or even 40 years.
I think this proves that there is something rather special about the Organisation.
We welcome visitors to our Social meetings, and we would love to hear from anyone who is interested in joining the Club
New members are always welcome, and can enjoy making new friends whilst supporting very worthwhile causes.

There's a lot to do and we hope to have a very positive year helping the local community and raising some funds to support our chosen charities. Not forgetting of course, the fun and friendship that the Club brings to its members.

One of our main aims for the year is to build an even stronger, more focused Club and to identify what direction the Club is going to take in the coming years. We hope to welcome more new members during the year and to see the Club going from strength to strength.

If you are a woman who is interested in helping your community, making a difference in the wider global community, making friends and having fun, then our club could well be the place for you.

We are very pleased to welcome visitors and prospective new members to our Social evenings.
