Welcome to SI East London

Our President's Message

My name is Ann Williams and I became President of S.I. East London in April 2007. Welcome to our website.

We are a group of professional and business women who live and/or work in East London and South West Essex. Currently we are quite a small club but would love to expand so if you feel you could be interested in joining us please get in touch. We will be very happy to provide more information and arrange for you to come along to a meeting.

The club meets in a separate room at the Harvester, Beehive Lane, Gants Hill - just off the A12. We have a meeting most months, usually on a Tuesday, to discuss and plan our involvement in local issues, national and international Soroptimist activity. We also have a guest speaker at some of these meetings. Additionally we hold four meetings a year when we concentrate on project work.

Each year the President selects a charity for which the club will fundraise. My charity for this year is St. Francis Hospice in Havering-atte-Bower. Social and fundraising activities are organised on an ad hoc basis throughout the year.
