Welcome to SI Drogheda
Our President's Message
A very warm welcome to Soroptimist International Drogheda. Drogheda Soroptimist Club was chartered in January 1958. The founding president was Dr. Patricia McCaul Collins.
The first major project was the setting up of St. Ita's School for children with learning difficulties. This school plays a vital role today in the education of young children.
The Adult Literacy Service was another very successful project, started by Soroptimists and run by them for a period of 20 years before handing over to the VEC.
Benefiting through fundraising efforts were Coronary Heart Disease, Breast Cancer, The Alzheimers Society and Caring for Carers.
Now approaching our Golden Jubilee, we can look back with a great sense of achievement and look forward to even greater challenges.
Katie Callaghan, President SI Drogheda
