Soroptimist International of Great Britain and Ireland (SIGBI)
This section is: SIGBI Clubs

SI Coventry Projects

Each Soroptimist International club identifies the needs of its community, then establishes specific projects to address these needs. All our projects relate to one or more of the six Programme Focus Areas: Economic and Social Development, Education, Environment, Health, Human Rights and the Status of Women, and International Goodwill and Understanding.

More information is available in the Our Work pages, where you can read more about the current Programme Focus aims and the Quadrennial Project, supported by all clubs in the Federation.

The projects listed below include some of the local and international issues we research and support in SI Coventry:

Several Projects

We have several projects, with local, national and international themes. This year our main charity is an International charity - Joe Homan Homes in Southern India.

We are holding several fund raising events including a barbeque with musical ensemble, a Marks and Spencer's fashion show, a garden party with treasure hunt and Carol Concert.

Housing Benelovent

We regularly provide events for people who are house-bound

These include those that live at Soroptimist House in Coventry. Regular events include a tea party with entertainement. The enclosed photo shows a recent tea party with musical entertainment provided by a local school. This included both singing with movement plus the playing of musical instruments.

Raising Money and Having Fun

16 members recently spent a weekend in London and went to a show.

We have already planned to visit Birmingham Hippodrome to see the Royal Ballet in Swan Lake after a shared meal.

We recently raised £300 for the Princess Royal Carer's Trust at a Garden Fete.

We presented a Charity Concert and raised £750 for a local Senior Citizens' home.
